The Circle

Privacy Policy

Effective October 19, 2026

This policy explains what personal information The Circle, operated by The Montessori Foundation and AiMS LLC (“we,” “us”), collects, how we use it, and the choices you have.

1. Information we collect

  • Account information: your name, email address, school name, role, and login credentials (passwords are stored hashed by our authentication provider).
  • Membership and billing: your subscription status, plan and renewal date. Card details are collected and stored by Stripe; we do not see or store them.
  • Content you create: discussion posts, replies, likes, event registrations, course progress, and your conversations with the AI assistant.
  • Team invites: if you invite colleagues, we store the invite and, for email invites, the address you provide.
  • Technical data: basic logs such as IP address and browser type, and cookies needed to keep you signed in.

We do not intentionally collect information about children, and The Circle is intended for adult school professionals.

2. How we use it

  • to provide and secure your account and membership, and process payments;
  • to deliver the library, courses, events and community features;
  • to send service emails such as welcome messages, event confirmations and reminders, reply notifications, team invites, and notices about new content;
  • to answer your questions with the AI assistant and improve the service;
  • to meet legal obligations and prevent abuse.

We do not sell your personal information.

3. Service providers who process data for us

  • Supabase — database, authentication and storage.
  • Stripe — payment processing and the billing portal.
  • Resend — sending transactional email.
  • Anthropic — powers the AI assistant. Messages you send to it are transmitted to Anthropic to generate responses.
  • Vercel — application hosting.

These providers may only use your information to provide services to us. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights and users.

4. What other members can see

Your name, school name and avatar are visible to other members next to your discussion posts and replies. If you are on a school team, administrators of that team can see team members’ names, emails and roles.

5. Cookies

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising cookies. If we add analytics in the future, we will update this policy.

6. Retention and security

We keep your information while your account is active and for as long as needed afterward for legal, accounting and security purposes. We use industry-standard safeguards such as encrypted connections and access controls, but no system is completely secure.

7. Your choices

You can update your profile in the app, and cancel your membership in the billing portal. You may ask us to access, correct, export or delete your personal information, or to stop non-essential emails, by contacting us. Residents of some regions, including California and the EEA/UK, have additional rights under local law, and we will honor valid requests.

8. Changes

We may update this policy. If we make material changes we will notify you by email or in the app before they take effect.
